5yo g Leading Light - There On Time (Carroll House)

This 5-y-o gelding was purchased at the Doncaster sales on Wednesday 8th September 2021 and has gained experience in Irish points, running his best race on his third and final start in that sphere when sixth of 16 at Fairyhouse; the fifth has won a point since and the first and second have subsequently sold for £52k and £65k respectively. Sent over hurdles this summer, he built on a mid-field finish in a competitive event at the Galway Festival when third at Tramore last month, posting a Racing Post Rating of 105 in the process. That form was given substance when the second, who is trained by Henry de Bromhead, came out and won next time.

Both his hurdles runs have come over 2m5f, but he looks a real galloper, one who will appreciate stepping up to 3m in time. This is something which is backed up by his pedigree as he is by St Leger and Ascot Gold Cup winner Leading Light out of an unraced half-sister to Irish Grand National winner Organisedconfusion.

Completely unexposed, he should be competitive in novice/maiden hurdles in the North before going handicapping, ultimately over fences, with a test of stamina set to bring out the best in him.
